The Svanen - Europe's largest floating crane
The "Swan"
This enormous floating crane arrived off the North Wales coast to begin construction of the Rhyl Flats Offshore Wind Farm where it will be laying the foundations for 25 new wind turbines. Named the Svanen or 'Swan', the crane is normally based around the Dutch port of Rotterdam. At 80m (262ft) high, it will be clearly visible from the coast throughout the summer of 2008.
