Llithfaen and the surrounding area from the air
Llithfaen
Llithfaen is one of the highest villages of the Llŷn Peninsula lying on the southern slopes of yr Eifl with spectacular views across the whole peninsula, over Cardigan Bay to Harlech, Cader Idris and, on a clear day, the entire coast round to distant Pembrokeshire.
A steeply sloping mountain road from Llithfaen leeds down to the sheltered valley of Nant Gwytheyrn where the derelict mining village has been converted into a Welsh language center. Nearby is the hillfort of Tre'r Ceiri, one of Wales' most dramatic ancient monuments.
