Pwllheli

Pwllheli is a thriving market town, the largest on the Llŷn Peninsula. Originating as a fishing and shipbuilding centre, it grew as a popular Victorian resort, with the railway bringing tourists in from the cities of England. Some remnants of Victorian architecture remain, most notably the beachfront terrace at the West End of the town from where a tramway used to run to nearby Llanbedrog.

More recent additions include a modern marina making use of the large sheltered harbour with access to Cardigan Bay for sailing and pleasure boats. Other local attractions include the two Blue Flag bathing beaches, a golf course and the former Butlin's holiday camp, now renamed Hafan Y Môr.
